As from 2007 to date hardly one can speak’s of Sokoto politics without mentioning, two strong political godfathers Ex-governors, Attahiru Bafarawa on one side, while, Aliyu Wammakko Matakarda, at the other hand.

However, It will be recalled that Bafarwa at one of his recent interviews BBC Hausa monitored in Sokoto stated that he brought Wammakko, Maigari Dingyadi, Aminu Waziri and others to politics, but today his successors Wammakko has taken the “Bull”-by-the “Horn” to control the entire machinery of politics of the Caliphate with key politicians by his side.

Meanwhile, the two gladiators have persistent been capture in the pages of newspapers/magazines making headline as many analyst, especially Editors, following their trend of crises described their un-end battle or face-off that has split associates, supporters, , followers, loyalist towards different dimension that has pave way for emergence of Wammakko winning all his elections through free, fair and credile election’s twice in the state.

Nevertheless, many Public affairs commentators/ Opinion polls described the said gladiators as struggle for “power brokers”. According to this Analyst/Editor Freedom Radio, Kaduna Suleiman Yakubu and who is now late spokes recently on the ananomity of the whole situation as well genesis of crises while recalling that the battle fought between Wammakko and his predecessor Attahiru cannot be over emphasized considering that “only God has the monopoly of power”. Saying” if Bafarawa persist in fighting his successor Aliyu Wammakko he might end up retiring himself from politics. Since then, he was previlaged to be compensated with Member, House of Reps seat the position he occupied since 2011. Now his ambition for the number one citizen has triggered silent crises to change his mentors calculation ahead 2023. Already Wammakko 2015 single handedly anointed Tambuwal as Governor to succeed him.

But, him and Tambuwal have been splitted anioting another loyalist Ahmed Aliyu to succeed Tambuwal, although the battles fought between Ahmed Aliyu and former, Speaker gave incumbent Governor opportunity to return as governor with little margin after a long battle of “Inconclusive” election 2019.

Meanwhile, the congress held in the state has indicated that Wammakko still remain Alfa and Omega of the Sokoto politics even though Salame, who is working helter skelter to change the perception of the seat of Caliphate, though Senator, Wammakko has broke all the political powers and brings eminent politicians such as Maigari Dingyadi, presently serving as Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gobir, representing East Senatorial seat, Hon: Abdullahi Kalambaina, Representing Wammakko/ Kware, Hon: Musa. S. Adar, Gada/ Goronyo, respectively to regroup under one umbrella.

Others are: APC stalwart, and former, Commissioner, Alhaji Aminu Bello Sokoto ACY, Hon:Yusuf Suleiman now loyalist of Wammakko, Chairman NAFDAC, Ahmed Aliyu, Executive Secretary, Police Trust Funds(PTF’s), Ambassador Jordan Farouk Malami Yabo (Yariman Yabo) Alhaji Abdullahi Tambari Tafida, State APC Elders Forum, former Commissioners, Hon: Tsaha Sidi Mamman, Tukur Alkali, Local Government Chairmen as well APC Stakeholders, Women Leader & Youths just to mention few.

Now that Governor, Tambuwal is serving his last tenure, their is possibility that with all the above key mention politicians Wammakko is waxing strong in APC would quitely takes over his mandate ever since, he anointed Waziri as Governor, he has all that take to have his stolen madate back with prayers.
