ADGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh accompanied by Divisional Commissioner of Jammu Raghav Langer have left Kishtwar for Honzar Dachhan to take stock of the situation and review the ongoing rescue and relief operations. The West Bengal government has decided to extend the existing Covid restrictions in the state till August 15. The restrictions, which were imposed under the provisions of the Diaster Management Act 2005 and West Bengal Epidemic Disease, Covid Regulations 2020 were earlier announced till July 30.
The new order announced on Thursday allows government events in indoor places with not more than 50 per cent of the total seating capacity.
All outdoor activities including movement of people and vehicles remains strictly prohibited between 9pm and 5am.
However, health and emergency services, law and order and essential commodities have been kept out of the purview of night-time restrictions. (With inputs from Indrajit Kundu)
India has administered a total of 45,07,06,257 vaccine doses so far, the Union Health Ministry data said. Out of this, 35,25,45,271 are first doses and 9,81,60,986 are second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 45,49,598 doses were administered in India, out of which 32,21,210 were first doses and 13,28,388 were second doses.

The Tokyo Olympics organisers on Thursday announced 24 new Covid-19 cases, including three athletes, the highest one-day figures so far. The fresh additions took the total number of Games-related cases to 193.
Out of the 24, six are Games-concerned personnel and 15 are contractors, besides the three athletes.
Rescue operations were halted on Wednesday evening due to inclement weather. Rescue operations may resume today (July 29) if the weather improves. Five injured people have been brought to Kishtwar district hospital for treatment.
